Getting Rid of What Doesn't Work

photo thanks to: beyourowndetective.net

In life- there's the good, the bad and the ugly.

Who wants the ugly? (Not me!) And I know it's hard to always do what is right (ie. not drinking, smoking or getting into bad rships) But sometimes what feels good isn't actually good! (duh!) You see, you were born with an intangible, undefined, unexplainable sensation in your head called a conscience. It's there day and night, 24/7 and you'll know if what you're doing is wrong or right.

I had my Health Science class to day and my Professor raised a good point, "Get rid of what doesn't work" And he told the class about how he was tempted to do something bad, BUT, his life right now is going so well, that he did not want to mess up that positive flowing energy of good vibrations.
He ultimately had a great point--it's important to surround yourself with positive people who have fun and upbeat attitudes/energies. And if you already know that a group of people are negative and frequently slip into bad habits, then try and stay away from them, that's just the sourness trying to lure you in.

therefore, surround yourself with great people and always shoot for what is morally right.

Another Vegas Trip, Another Lesson Learned

Snow on the Cajon Pass

Vegas (again) this time with family was a Valentine's/All-Star/President's Day weekend! So there was a lot going on, but still managed to have some fun with the familia. It was a good relief on account of my 2 finals that I had during that week.

On Sunday, we went to church about 10 miles from the strip and the sermon was the best I've heard so far. It was really passionate and clear. It was inspiring and made me wake up to the realization that I can be a better and understanding person. Sometimes we just forget to do what we know is right and you'll know because your conscious will remind you day in and day out. It's really hard trying to be morally good these days with peer pressure and yearning to do what feels good. However, at the end of the day, there comes a point when you'll realize what you've done wrong.

Actions are strong and it's never to late to surrender and say, "Yes I've messed up and I'm sorry."

Today, I witnessed something completely different from the mundane and it was an eye-opener for those who were there and it just goes back to surrendering and admitting that you have done wrong and that you are sorry for what you've done.

So don't be afraid to admit that you have done wrong, because once you've admitted to it, then things will flow naturally and smoothly again.

Happy President's Day, Thank you President Obama for all of your hard work, good luck!

Slow Motion is Better Than No Motion

Whether it be graduating from school, buying a new house, loosing weight or finishing a project...

...it is always better to get there slowly with full passion, assurance and excitement rather that accomplishing something and having a poor attitude.

Whatever your goal may be during this lifetime or even just for this month, have perseverance and keep going, you'll eventually end up where you want to be.

have a great night!

You are who you want to BE

Every situation, every relationship, every mistake lies in your hands. You are in total control of your life. You create every single thing that you would wish to happen in your life-from the friends you hang out with to the relationship with your family. Allow no one to make you feel less of a person. If you've been holding something inside of you, then find time and a way to express that pain you feel because there is no better feeling than being completely open and honest. When you are an honest and morally good person, life will flow smoothly. No one controls you, you were made by the infinite eye of The Creator and you were made to feel complete happiness and love; let nobody take that away from you.

Rack up the Good Karma!

I actually got my subtle sense of accomplishment today by finally volunteering somewhere that actually needed a lot of help. I've been wanting to donate my time for so long now, but I never remembered to call the person who was in charge. And even though it's sort of a lot of work, I know I'm actually making a difference by helping out. So, as cliche as it may seem, "Do go out of your way and make a difference, even the smallest things count." BECAUSE...

Karma came from a basic Buddhist theory derived from India in which they believed in doing good works (such as being genuinely good to other people, or helping the sick)and in turn, good things will come to you in return. Bad Karma is the exact opposite in where you do something intentionally harmful or unintentionally to
someone and in some form, it returns back to you during this lifetime or the next.

MY POINT: Giving your time and being genuinely considerate to others, will in turn bring back more positive results aka good karma. The universe is just waiting to abundantly shower you with all its goodness! So, what are you still waiting for? Start racking up the goodness, it's unlimited like your text messages.
