Setting the Right Intentions for a New Year

Welcoming this new year with the right intentions is an awesome way to set yourself ahead of the game. Writing down your unlimited intentions for the new year is a way to really think and believe that you will achieve whatever it is you would like to accomplish this year. Setting the right intentions includes: being honest, true to yourself and being passionate about what you want to accomplish.

What’s the difference between a goal and an intention? A goal is simply a statement you would “wish” to happen. (something like a old sweater you forgot about way in the back of your closet). An intention is a stronger thought and vibrational energy put into a certain statement (something valuable that you really want every single day).

Therefore, intentions are very powerful and a great way to start the year!

Happy writing!

Your Outlooks and Your Credibility in Life.

One's credibility and outlook on life can both relate to one another in many ways.

Credibility can mean a lot of different things to yourself and to other people. Each person you know in your life can have a certain outlook on who you are what you're all about. It's impossible to put on a mask in front of the people you've known for years. They know who you are and what you're capable of. So why is it that there are some people (who you've known for years) that you can't clearly explain what your outlook on life is all about? Why can't we tell the ones we've known (for years) that we've actually "grown-up" and that we have a different purpose in our lives.

I think the answer to that is: Credibility. During the course of our lives, our thoughts and our actions either change for the good, the bad, or remain the same. Meaning, the decisions we make, the company we keep and the power of our thoughts ultimately define our credibility.

To be credible, we must first act incredible! And by incredible I mean, a beckon of light, hope and positivity. It might sound easier said than done and I agree! Changing the way you view the world takes time. Changing your thoughts, habits and actions can take a lifetime. But, that's why we have been placed on this Earth. To realize, learn and understand that we can make a difference in this worls simply by our thoughts, words and actions.

I wish you all a great holiday season!

Tough Bananas

Trying to become a tough person nowadays can be a bit challenging especially for a young lady. We are bombarded with excessive media schemes about looking like this or feeling like that... that it begins to make young women feel less than special.

I think that the school system should really teach classes about self-development and managing money and investing at an earlier age. There's much more to life outside of school and sometimes I even forget that and I get caught up with final deadlines, midterms and group projects.

I really believe that being in school is also a test to seeing what other skills you have. What is it that you do outside of school that brings one joy and passion is also something we must notice because one day, school will be over, but the school of life will continue.

So don't shy away from doing things that you love to do, even if other people tell you otherwise
=) Happy weekend all!

Adult Appreciation

I guess (at my age of 22) we 20ish ages don't really know what important roles that older adults play in our lives. For example, over the weekend, I was sitting at an outdoor table, minding my own business-eating some dinner when a married couple in their late 50's sat besides me. We of course began talking about the ice breaker of all convo's---"the weather" which I don't mind talking about at all. I love talking about the weather! Then, we just started talking and it was getting really interesting but then other people entered the convo, so the topic started to merge into Filipino Americans and the differences between life in the U.S. and life in the P.I. An interesting topic indeed.

I also had another convo with my aunt in her late 20's and she had a whole different topic to talk about with college and marriage. It was very interesting and kept me motivated for more school.
Time literally just flies when you're in a really good convo. There ought to be days obligated to just talking to other people and hearing their stories! =)

So I think it's important to listen to what other people have to say because you never know- that complete stranger can completely enlighten you and make you think of things you've never thought of before. Life needs knowledge, experiences and happiness and most of the time, you can find that in other people. If you have an open mind, don't judge others and stay positive, then you might just learn about so many other important things in life.

Life seems to be moving at 90mph and deep down I love it but I also wish I could be there for more of my loved ones and friends even though I'm caught up with schoolwork.

with gratitude,

A Picture Can Tell a Thousand Words

I love to take pictures and I love it even more when pictures turn out amazingly nice! Taking pictures is more than showing it off but it's capturing a moment in the past that you can retrieve by looking at pictures at that time. It is a great way to share memorable moments with friends and family. I don't think I'll ever stop taking pictures.

Here are some of my favorite photos that I've taken

Why Saying Nothing Means A LOT

It's not easy to do, keeping your mouth shut when you hear something so atrociously mean about another person. You want to defend that person, you know that the person one is talking about is the most amiable person you've ever met and yet you remain to keep your mouth shut and at that instant you gain a new perspective that means that you have built up the courage to keep still in the moment of negativity.

At times, we can overhear so much gossip and negative talk about others, ourselves and the world we live in. The best thing to do at times like those is to keep quiet and remember that you have placed yourself in a new state of peace in which nobody can make you fall into their negative trap. Speaking negatively about others causes you to be stuck in a rat race of irrelevant fluff.

If we honestly and humbly want our lives to run smoothly and to ultimately be happy, we've got to force it upon ourselves to not talk bad about others, especially the ones we love and care for. Once we stop gossiping and we are unconsciously speaking only good things about others then that's when we know we are a good state.

So the next time you just want to say something about another person, just say nothing and you'll be doing a whole lot more better for yourself and others.
